God Knew Thee Before Forming Thee in thy Womb

Jeremias 1:5 Before I formed thee in the bowels of thy mother, I knew thee: and before thou camest forth out of the womb, I sanctified thee, and made thee a prophet unto the nations.

Genesis 49:25 The God of thy father shall be thy helper, and the Almighty shall bless thee with the blessings of heaven above, with the blessings of the deep that lieth beneath, with the blessings of the breasts and of the womb.

From a Reader

Denise,

I like the bullet format concise and to the point. As you point out the pro-life movement was hijacked by ecumenism, it is sad that such evil is being used by Satan to actually draw people away from the True faith.

Founding of CONCEPTION ON

by Denise Michelle

To a friend on our recent family vacation:

"We are north of New York City at a town called Newburgh near Walden.. another town where I went with The Little Sisters of the Assumption when I volunteered in East Harlem, NY in the early 90's. I remember we came up to Walden for a little retreat one weekend.

As we drove into town I was telling my children this and EXACTLY AT THE SAME TIME I said the word "assumption" there I saw a sign that said "Church of Our Lady of the Assumption!"

On the sign it also said "A Mom is a mom from Conception On!"

I have been praying this week about possibly adding a blog link to my Catholic Mom website that is pro-life... I take this as a sign to do so! :)"

(Note: I'm thinking as I post this photo of Our Lady of the Assumption how in Our Lady's case conception
on means for Eternity!  She is our Mother for Eternity!)

Introduction

Dear Friends,

Years ago when I was 14 a close friend of mine had an abortion.  I was silent when I could have done something and it changed my life forever.  Recently on our family vacation I was re-visiting a town where I used to volunteer in New York and saw a sign that said "A Mom is a Mom from Conception On."

Just last year I took a drive to the beach.  I never made it to the beach.  Instead I found myself passing another church with a pro-life sign that was similar.  These signs were reminders to me of the important message I have been meaning to share with you.

Over the last 25 years God has given me insight into the various aspects of the pro-life movement.  I find it's time to share these things with you and to dedicate this blog
to that little child I could have helped live but did nothing to give him or her a voice or life.

I will call that baby Conception.

Now as a practicing Roman Catholic in the traditional Latin Rite for the last 12 years, I also see the remedy for abortion clearly.

This I wish to share with my fellow traditional Catholics in hope that they will in turn share these insights with their fellow pro-life friends who have not "come to the knowledge of the truth" but continue in darkness trying to help the helpless but not making much progress.

I turn your attention then to the link titled "Why the Pro-Life Movement is Ineffective" and to my thoughts on other related matters in the other blogs posted on CONCEPTION ON.

This is not a documented thesis (Though I hope to add documentation as I have time.).  This is my own personal observation, experience and input from other pro-lifers based on 25 years of living. Consider this website more a commentary. Sure, yes it is my opinion and you may take it as that but those who have long been involved in the pro-life movement and have come away again and again frustrated I think will find enlightenment and encouragement in what I have to say.

And with that in mind, I hope and pray that they will follow the path that I set before them.

Truly, I don't expect it because these are dark times and frankly I believe this is the time of the Great Apostasy prophesied by Our Lord in scripture where he says he will return and find little Faith.  But, still I hope and keep hope, always.

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph

My Pro-Life Background

For more detail about supporting the following descriptions see my About Me page at Experienced Mum.

Summer of 1983   A close friend had an abortion that I was silent about where I had the power to save the baby by telling the parents of the woman.  Still though, I considered myself pro-life because I would never personally have an abortion and I loved children, though I had made the mistake of choosing to keep the secret of my friend over saving the babies life.

(The catechism teaches that we share in the guilt of someone's sin by silence, by counsel, by consent and by defending the ill done as well as several other ways.  It took me several years actually to understand that I shared in the guilt of my friends abortion by not even trying to stop her.)

High School  During this time I actively babysat for over 40 families.  I went with my friend to confession after she killed her baby.  Later though over several years I saw how the abortion became an impediment for her to live the true Faith and caused her much suffering and a hardened heart.  I too suffered not realizing until several years later that the scar of that experience influenced every area of my life; in many ways bringing me closer to God, in other ways plunging me several times into depression.  It is one thing to lose your own children not of your own fault; it is totally another thing to carry the guilt of killing an innocent child.

I have come to believe that part of my penance in this guilt was losing my own children part of the time when my husband left me summer of 2004 and I had to undergo two custody battles. Now I can truly say I know the pain of my friend who lost her child due to the abortion.  Though, my pain is lessoned by the fact that I still have my children and still get to spend time with them; albeit not full time.

College Summer 1987 to Summer 1990 Several summers I worked as a camp counselor. My first summer I worked in a camp with autistic and down syndrome children.  I majored in Elementary Education and in my last year switched to speech communications; though for several financial, moral, and physical reasons of being sick (I had also been hit by a car), I did not finish college my fourth year.

Nanny Years Summer 1990 to Summer 1995  I volunteered one year while I was a nanny taking an autistic girl swimming; helped the homeless in Portland, spent one summer helping single mothers in East Harlem discerning a vocation to the religious life, was a nanny for three summers in a family with a down syndrome boy, and one summer worked in a home caring for Alzheimer's patients.

I consider all this work as pro-life considering that these fragile members of society many propose to have eliminated through abortion or hide them away in institutions.  I was also a nanny for six different families during this time.  (Nanny in Corvallis, Oregon; Washington D.C. and Bethesda, MD)  During this time I actively babysat for pro-life families such as the Crnkovich's, Schmidts and Hamms.  Mary Suarez Hamm (sister of former Mayor of Miami, Xavier Suarez) had 11 children, attended my church and ran a crises-pregnancy center, Centro Tepeyac

Mary was an active force in my life for over four years as I babysat her children, read the books
she read and was educated by her into the destructive forces of the IMF, World Bank, United Nations and Planned Parenthood who were all working together for the sterilization and birth control of families mostly in third world countries through contraception, and abortion.

I lived three summers with Mary's sister in law caring for her three children.  One of them was a down syndrome boy.  It was another exposure for me toward down syndrome children.  I learned of their innocence and joy, saw how they were special people from God and it is people's total ignorance who think they should abort a down syndrome child.  They are throwing away one of God's most precious treasures.

During this time also I met and became acquainted with friends who had worked alongside with Joan Andrews (pro-life activist jailed many times) in the 70's helping her dismantle abortion machines.  It added to my understanding of the pro-life controversies of silent prayer and talking to women vs the more hard core response of going in and destroying the murder weapons of the little babies.

I also babysat for several protestant families who believed in birth limitation and abortion in "hard cases".  I remember several prominent Washington D.C. families whom I babysit for such as Christopher Buckley (son of William F. Buckley Jr.) and David Ignatius (Editor of the Washington Post) who held conversations with me on the drive back home from babysitting challenging me on such pro-life beliefs of my Faith.  I had a chance to meet and visit on a regular basis with such prominent political figures such as Doro, President Bush Seniors daughter who's son attended the same school as boys to whom I was their nanny.

So, I saw both the political and religious polar extremes at work with those I was acquainted with in my own personal life.

Many of these protestant families attended church at St. Columba's, an Episcopal church in Bethesda.  I came to see that the church was more about politics then religion as I became personally acquainted with many families who attended there.  It was at their coffee hour every Sunday that the real political decisions were being made and discussed in Washington.  I didn't attend church there because I attended the modern Catholic church, but I babysat for these families and visited once in awhile their socials.

Connected to this church was a pre-school that at the time I had no idea was the research center for Sensory Integration Disorder.   Several of the children I was a nanny fo
r attended this school and my job was to drop them off and pick them up.  There I met Carol Kranowitz who wrote The Out of Sync Child.  Later this was to become a lifesaving book for me as my own son suffered from vaccination damage and hypersensitivity that was then exasperated in his anguish by a split family causing our whole family untold suffering and much judgmentalism against me in trying to deal with him by my thought to be friends.

Later the understanding I gained about a child's vestibular system and their development from the study of Sensory Integration Disorder added another element of understanding how parents and adults can take this understanding and put the "life" back into these children.

For some reason I became the babysitter to many of the second grade boys and their siblings in one neighborhood in Bethesda where I was a nanny. It is during this time I became profoundly in tune with the damaging effects of too much TV on them and also on the younger children I was a nanny to as I describe in my article The Golden Calf in the Living Room.

I can frankly say that I came to see too much
television viewing in many ways as anti-life.  It robbed families and little children of a wholesome lifestyle.  Here I was in one of the richest and politically powerful neighborhoods in the United States and before my eyes were many children with glazed eyes, totally depressed.

Jim Trelease has written one of the best chapters I have ever read about the damaging effects of too much TV on young children in his book The Read Aloud Handbook.

Many of my "older" friends in that same neighborhood all had shrinks and were all on psych drugs.  What is going on?  I wondered.

Hmm too much TV, leads to couch potato syndrome, leads to mental insta
bility.  (Read between the lines: LACK OF EXERCISE!)  Interesting, the first thing their psych doctors told them was to start exercising.

It is one thing to kill the unborn.  It is another thing to kill the living; killing them in their soul, robbing them of true joy through joy robbers.

L'Arche 1993/1994  I volunteered for a year in Tacoma, WA caring for adults with mental disabilities. Then I returned to Washington D.C. to continue my life as a nanny.

St. Anne's 1994/1995  During this year I was actively involved in a young
adult group at St. Anne's in Washington D.C. with many pro-life figures such as Roderic Burke (now Friar Roderic, known as the Roving Reporter on AirMaria.com) and Tim and Angela Huelskamp (Tim is now a Senator in Kansas). Rod was actually a reader at my wedding in 1996.

Several times I found myself sitting behind and later visiting with after church, pro-life activist Mary Ellen Bork (Judge Robert Bork's wife)  who had talked to our young adult group about the marriage vocation.

Once a month, Rod, Tim and Angela, myself and others joined Fr. Thomas Morrow
(who is now on the staff of AveMaria Singles as Ask Father) as he lead the all night prayer vigils to end abortion.  These included devotion to the first nine Fridays and Saturdays to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.  Included were many Latin Hymns drawing me into a love of tradition which became preparation for me to finding the true Mass that had been removed from these once Catholic churches.

When the evening had past and morning came, the group of us walked or drove down to Planned Parenthood and prayed the rosary and tried to talk with the women entering the abortion clinic to persuade them to not go in.  Fr. Morrow always led by example by joining us here in praying the rosary.  Fr. Morrow is one of the few clerics in the United States who actively tries to help homosexuals overcome their deviancy as well as counsel young people in dating, modesty, courtship and marriage.

I visited Fr. Morrow recently in the last few years on one of my trips to Washington D.C. I asked him if he would join us in the traditional movement and consider being properly ordained.  I left him all the necessary materials for discernment.  Unfortunately, he doesn't agree with me but I still pray for a change of heart and ask for your prayers for this intention.

Motherhood Years 1996 to present.
During my first year as a mother I found the Latin Mass.  In fact the first time I attended a Latin Mass I vowed to never attend the novus ordo service again.  I broke this one time that first summer for my friends wedding but I have never been back since, even for a friends wedding or funeral.  I have attended receptions; but I have stayed clear of the mockery service of the true Mass.  That is how strongly I believe it is so evil.

I was now a resident of Cambridge, MA and later three other communities around the metropolitan Boston area.  During these years I had five children.  I buried myself into homemaking, home schooling, motherhood -having babies!  You could say I a was a pro-life mom for sure.

My first doctor as a young mother who delivered my first baby was an active pro-lifer.

During these years as a young mother I became acquainted with, through my church, several active pro-lifers.  In fact three of them were in a rosary group at my home and belonged to Massachusetts Citizens for Life, MCFL.  One of them, who prefers his identity kept private, convinced my computer saavy husband to get the first webpage going for MCFL.  So, actually, I became the first designer of the first pro-life website main page for MCFL because my husband let me pick out the whole design.  We created the whole thing in our living room on our family computer.  It was the first year I was a mother and the first year I was attending the Latin Mass.  We never ourselves belonged to MCFL, but my husband created their first website and I designed the main page.

I personally would never join MCFL later as I did not agree with their interfaith prayer policies and support of the false Ecumenical movement.  It is another reason why I never joined in their pro-life walk every year in Boston.

At the time, the President of MCFL was Ray Neary.  He met my husband.  Later Ray became a key player in our family situation when 8 years later my husband decided to leave me and I engaged Ray's help in trying to keep our family together.  But, to no avail.  Ray to my disappointment was a strong supporter of public school education, condemned by the Church as a danger to our children's Faith.  This was another eye opener to me amongst many of my experiences amongst pro-life modern Catholics -their total ignorance in traditional Church teaching.

I came to see that the modern churches doctrine was pro-life and that's all.  Nothing more.  The other traditional teachings my fellow "thought to be Catholics" were in total ignorance as they promoted Vatican II and left everything prior behind.

During this time as a young mother, long before our family split, Susan Gallagher came into my life also.  Susan, a strong activist in the pro-life movement and active with Operation Rescue was friends with original Founders of MCFL: Mildred Jefferson and Father Philip La Plante.

Never did I realize at the time how involved in my life they would become.  Susan was one of the many singles who would join our family on holidays.  We held the tradition of taking in all the strays who were "homeless" of family roots around Boston.

For 8 years I listened to Susan talk about her friend Fr. Philip La Plante. (see the story of Susan, Fr. Laplante and also photo's of Mildred at this link) Many Mondays and Saturdays she tried to convince me to join her with my young children at the abortion mill.  She said she truly believed if I came that the young mothers seeing my children would have a change of heart.  In all my years I never joined her; I was a run down mother who's husband worked 12 hour days.  I was a single mother long before I was forced to be a single mother in "fact".  I just never had the energy to go into Boston with all my little ones.

In all those years I never joined Susan's invitation to "come meet Father."  But, after my husband left me I was called by Fr. Laplante's dying side in the hospital with a begging Susan calling for a traditional priest to give him the last rites.  You may read the story at the link above.  Father pulled through that episode and Susan took him under her care.  That began a year long intimate friendship with Susan and Father where I let them come to my home a few times a month for respite.  Susan cared for Father around the clock, so by spending the night at my house she could sleep and I could take a turn watching him and give her some rest.

By this time I was in a joint custody situation where I had my children part time and over four years I hosted many woman in my home who needed help; one of them also being ironically another friend of Father Laplante's.

Ironically, during that first episode of Father in the hospital, he was transferred to Brigham and Women's Hospital; the main place that Susan constantly picketed as a pro-lifer begging women to save their babies.  She was amazed she slipped in to the hospital that night to be with Father without being escorted from the premisses.

We sat there and laughed that night as I joined her at the hospital, thinking of the irony of the whole thing where the same hospital that was killing infants was now trying to save the life of her good friend.  That laughter was mixed with tears, believe me.

Thus ends my description of my background in the pro-life movement which continues as I try to raise my own children as good Catholics to promote life and share my insights with those who are interested in saving the unborn.

Why the Pro-Life Movement is Ineffective

Why is the pro-life movement ineffective?
by Denise Michelle

In this article I am discussing the pro-life movement not being effective in general: as a whole.  This is no means is meant to knock the work by individuals that has been affective.  I would not want to discourage any one from trying to save a baby.  My whole point is don't compromise your own Catholic Faith in the process. My other point is that no matter how horrific abortion is, it never compares to the evil of rejecting God by offending the First Commandment.  How can the murder of a person ever compare to t
he denial and rejection of God?

We must save the babies but we must not dethrone God at the same time.

As well, I am mostly addressing here traditional Catholics who have joined novus ordo or protestant pro-life groups or supposedly secular pro-life groups that involve interfaith prayer meetings into their agenda.  Catholics should have their own pro-life organizations and work together to keep in accord with the Faith.  I realize many traditional chapels already do this and I applaud them in their work.
  • The pro-life movement is cursed by too much politics.
  • The pro-life movement is mainly based upon interfaith false Ecumenism condemned by the First Commandment.
  • The pro-life movement is riddled with people's own feeble efforts instead of animated by Christ living through them.

Many traditional Catholics who have been enlightened by the current apostasy known as modernism, conciliarism or the novus ordo religion have come to these above conclusions. How can they be involved in a movement (pro-life) that wraps itself up into another movement (false ecumenism) without it being a danger to their faith?  In the majority of pro-life groups the protestants and pagans are mixed up with the Catholics in interfaith prayer meetings.

Should protestants and pagans stop working to save the unborn? Of course not.  But, should Catholics join them in their efforts?  No, it should be the other way around.  Catholics need to be the leaders and by non-Catholics joining them it can be a tool for their conversion.  Catholics are forbidden to join in the prayers of false religions.

Should Catholics continue to try to help the unborn? Of course.  But, they should not do so in a manner where they are combining their work in the worship of God with false religions.

The pro-life movement has actually become an excuse for Catholics to involve themselves in worshipping with false religions under the guise of helping the helpless.  At many of their pro-life meetings they hold interfaith prayer vigils.  This is mainly what I am talking about that Catholics need to avoid.

How can Catholics expect God to bless their work with the unborn if they are committing sin against the First Commandment in interfaith worship?

Secondly and related, how can modern Catholics expect God to bless their work with the unborn if they continue to commit sacrilege and apostasy by participating in the false religion of the novus  ordo?

Of course many of them do not even realize that their local churches are now not even Catholic.  They have been deceived or choose to stay blissfully ignorant.

As for politics, many of these pro-life organizations stand around giving grand speeches and holding signs but truly does that help the unborn?  They picket.  They lobby.  They make a lot of noise.  But, does it move souls?  Does it spring mothers into action to not kill their babies?

Abortion is a symptom of a deeper problem in society: the lack of the true Faith.

Restore the Faith and abortion will cease.  What is needed is not lobbying, not politics, not picketing, but CONVERSION.  (So, yes, keep praying your rosaries!)

What mother, animated by the love of God would kill her child?  Of course not!  Abortion has swept across our nation because the Tabernacle of Christ has been removed!  Because the true Faith has been replaced by an apostate religion!  Because the Sacred Heart has been removed from homes.  Because mothers have left the hearth!  Because true prayer and worship has ceased!

Roe Vs Wade made the landmark decision to allow a mother to abort her child on January 22, 1973 just four years after the full placement of the novus ordo missae in the local parishes.  But, it was first argued in court on December 9, 1971 just two years after the placement of the novus ordo sacrilege.  Remove Christ and the devil moves in where He once lived.

For those who believe the false religion was instituted just after the death of Pius XII with a false Pope then we can say it only took a little more then a decade for this great evil to plague our country.

Do you honestly believe that fifteen years before as Catholics frequented the true Sacraments on a mass scale in almost every town in the United States that abortion on such a grande scale
could be possible?  Of course not!

I have friends who tell me that this was a nation devoid of Catholic traditions.  Really?  I have traveled 47 of our 50 United States.  I have seen with my own eyes Catholic Church after Catholic Church built prior to Vatican II in almost every state of the Union!  Catholic traditions from Spain, Mexico, France, Poland, Germany, Italy and Ireland being some of the main ones brought here by our ancestors in the Faith.  Churches built with their money and sweat so Christ could be a light in our beautiful nation of America and when I say beautiful I mean the gorgeous landscape that God has given us in these United States that I can truly say I have been blessed to see!

Priests such as Fr. De Smet, Apostle of the Rockies converted a majority of the Indians to the true Faith before they were murdered by our government in war.

Prior to Vatican II, worldwide Catholics were a leader in the major religions.  Now, we can honestly say that true Catholics are truly a minority; barely whispering in this pagan world.

And another thought.  Think of the power of the Bishops.  One traditional priest said to me that the Catholic Bishops could have stood up in the early 1970's and put a total stop to the legalization of abortion.  Why? Because there were so many.  I think he said to me 300 in the United States alone.  All they had to do was direct Catholics to do the right thing.  But, he says they remained for the most part silent.

Why?  They had already sold their souls to the new apostate religion which blinded the
m against any constructive action.

Consider this story:

St. Matthew 12
43 And when an unclean spirit is gone out of a man he walketh through dry places seeking rest, and findeth none. 44 Then he saith: I will return into my house from whence I came out. And coming he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. 45 Then he goeth, and taketh with him seven
other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is made worse than the first. So shall it be also to this wicked generation.

Unless we fill ourselves up with the Lord through the true Sacraments and true Faith, our souls are vessels where the evil one can come and set up house.  That is why the pro-life movement is ineffective as it is it consists of a home full of spirits of false religions instead of being totally animated by the true Faith.
......
Consider these other words of Our Lord:

St. John 154 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unle
ss it abide in the vine, so neither can you, unless you abide in me.

St. John 15 5 I am the vine: you the branches: he that abideth in me, and I in him, the same beareth much fruit: for without me you can do nothing.

St. John 6 48 I am the bread of life.

St. John 6 51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven.

St. John 8 12 Again therefore, Jesus spoke to them, saying: I am the light of the world: he that followeth me, walketh not in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

St. John 9 5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

Do you hear that pro-life message?
Christ is food!  Christ is life!  Christ is light! Christ is the vine!

If we are not connected to Him through His church, through His blessings, then we are nothing. We are cut off dead branches and our work does not bear fruit.

We are thus dead like the babe murdered in the womb!

Consider this parable demonstrating the truth of the Catholic Faith showing that belief in the Eucharist is necessary for our salvation:

St. John 6
47Amen, amen I say unto you: He that believeth in me, hath everlasting life. 48 I am the bread of life. 49 Your fathers did eat manna in the desert, and are dead. 50 This is the bread which cometh down from heaven; that if any man eat of it, he may not die.

51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven. 52 If any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever; and the bread that I will give, is my flesh, for the life of the world. 53 The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying: How can this man give us his flesh to eat? 54Then Jesu

s said to them: Amen, amen I say unto you: Except you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, you shall not have life in you. 55 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath everlasting life: and I will raise him up in the last day.

56 For my flesh is meat indeed: and my blood is drink indeed. 57 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, abideth in me, and I in him. 58 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father; so he that eateth me, the same also shall live by me. 59 This is the bread that came down from heaven. Not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead. He that eateth this bread, shall live for ever. 60 These things he said, teaching in the synagogue, in Capharnaum.

61 Many therefore of his disciples, hearing it, said: This saying is hard, and who can hear it?62 But Jesus, knowing in himself, that his disciples murmured at this, said to them: Doth this scandalize you? 63 If then you shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before? 64 It is the spirit that quickeneth: the flesh profiteth nothing. The words that I have spoken to you, are spirit and life65 But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning, who they were that did not believe, and who he was, that would betray him.

.......

One day with my fellow traditional Catholics we were visiting with a traditional Catholic priest and a woman asked him if she would help the unborn more if she continued picketing in front of an abortion mill and talking to mothers or entering the convent.  She said she found herself torn between the two.  She imagined if she became a nun that she would be abandoning the unborn.

The priest I remember looked right into her eyes and said, you can do more for the unborn by your prayers and sacrifices in the convent praying for the conversion of poor sinners more then you could ever do for them carrying a sign.

Are we saying then that people should not picket abortion mills or pray the rosary in front of them?  No, but we are saying let us keep all in perspective.  It is not OUR EFFORTS that save the unborn but it is Christ animated through us or Christ who saves because of our prayers and sacrifices as we are hidden from the world.

Here is another story to ponder.  When I was first attending the Latin Mass my husband brought home from the library a very unsavory book about Bishop McKenna's work in trying to rid a family of some demons through exorcisms.  I say unsavory because truly reading about that evil is very hard to swallow.  Bishop McKenna must have a great grace to be upheld in such work dealing with the devil.  The good Bishop tried three times to exercise the demon but to no avail.

One day I had a chance to discuss the issue with the Bishop.  We both concluded that the demon would not leave because the family had not embraced the true Faith.  They were animated by the false religion of the novus ordo.  For each time the demon was exorcised he had every reason to return as the family still had not made Christ the throne of their hearts!

.........

So, how can the pro-life movement become effective?

  • Catholics need to practice their Faith.
  • Protestants and Pagans need to convert to the one true Faith.
  • Novus Ordo modernists need to convert to true Catholicism.
  • Parents need to keep their children away from bad companions, home school them or send them to a traditional Catholic school.
  • Education should continue about avoiding bad books, immoral movies etc.
  • Sex Education should be taught in the home in a personal individual and private general (not explicit as the Pope condemns) manner by parents to their children as taught by the Church.
  • Catholics need to participate in the pro-life movement in prayer, Mass, through personal relationships in helping women avoid abortion; any politics or rescuing women should be by keeping in the bounds of ones Faith by not joining in any interfaith worship or interfaith organization.  In other words Catholics should have their own pro-life work individually or in groups separate from other religions.
  • If non-Catholics want to join Catholics in their pro-life work giving credence to the Catholic Faith, then great.. it will serve as a tool for their conversion.  But, it cannot be the other way around.  Catholics cannot join under the auspices of false religions in their work; that is a sin against the First Commandment.
  • If people wish to combine people from various backgrounds in the work for the unborn it should be done then on a secular level without involving religion that compromises a Catholic's Faith.  But, will this be as effective as animating the movement fully by one's Catholic Faith?  No.
  • Catholics need to Enthrone the Sacred Heart in their homes and their hearts and let their devotions to Our Lady in the rosary and other prayers and in Christ help animate them with the breathe of God in all they do.
  • Catholics need to think of the simplicity of the Gospels in how Our Lord converted and touched hearts on a one by one basis through friendships; not by big political meetings.  I think about speeches that are made on television and the radio.  How many women who are contemplating abortion are truly watching such things?  Probably not many.
  • Catholics need to learn to recognize the signs of young people in crises and respond accordingly before they commit such horrible acts of sin.
Tell me your thoughts.
